2023-24 KEA Committees
PR&R: members of this committee will process all grievances and complaints as appropriate. PR&R may consider problems of an ethical nature as set forth by the Alaska PTPC guidelines and the NEA Code of Ethics.

Negotiations Team and Support--members of this committee will serve as the bargaining group for KEA in negotiations with the school district.

External Public Relations Team: Your charge is positively promote KEA’s programs, purpose, and concerns through a variety of means. For example, sponsor kid-centered community and school events, athletic programs, KRBD pledge drive, publishing ads in print, radio, local event programs, etc.

Internal PR Team: Your charge is to organize events that promote camaraderie within KEA. Your charge is to organize social events as well as distribute good cheer throughout the schools.

Membership Committee shall organize and conduct unified membership enrollment and inform members of the accomplishments of the KEA, and supply members with a copy of the Constitution, By-laws, and policies of KEA upon request.

Scholarship--members of this committee will review applications for graduating seniors attending college or Vocational-Technical School and recommend awardees to the Ex Board. In addition, this committee will review applications for scholarship for KEA members to attend classes.

Nominations and Elections Committee shall present the names for each office in March. Usually the committee shall consist of one member chosen at large, and one member from each membership group.

Degree Plus -- members of this committee will recommend teachers who apply and meet criteria in negotiated agreement for advancement on salary scale. CBA states: “The committee shall be made up of two members appointed by the Superintendent and two members appointed by the ASSOCIATION” (Area 6, Sec. 2, 4).
